SnapCal Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Najim Bacha, the solo developer of SnapCal ("SnapCal", "we", "us") about your use of the SnapCal app and its services. By using SnapCal you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

SnapCal is not medical advice. Calorie and nutrition figures, meal plans and coach answers are estimates to help you track your eating. They are not a diagnosis or treatment. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before making big changes to your diet, especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition or have a history of eating disorders.

1. Who can use SnapCal

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age for digital services in your country if that is higher. If you are under 18, you should use SnapCal with the permission of a parent or guardian.

2. Your account

You can use SnapCal as a guest, or sign in to back up and sync your data.
You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in account safe and for what happens under your account.
Please give accurate information. Your plan is worked out from what you enter.

3. How the estimates work

SnapCal uses artificial intelligence and food databases to recognise food in photos and estimate portions, calories and nutrients. Photos, lighting, hidden ingredients and portion sizes make these estimates imperfect, and they can be wrong. You can always correct a result before or after you save it. You are responsible for the decisions you make using SnapCal.

4. SnapCal Pro and payments

Some features need a paid SnapCal Pro subscription. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
Payments are handled by Google Play (or the App Store on Apple devices), under that store's terms.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. You can cancel any time in your Google Play or App Store subscription settings.
If a free trial is offered, you will be charged when it ends unless you cancel before then.
Deleting the app or your SnapCal account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store.
Refunds are handled by the store under its refund policy.
Free accounts have usage limits, for example on scans and coach messages. We may change what is included in the free and paid plans; changes will not reduce a paid period you have already bought.

5. Acceptable use

Please do not:

upload anything illegal, harmful, or that you do not have the right to share;
try to break, overload, reverse-engineer or get around the app's security or usage limits;
use automated tools to access the service, or resell it;
use SnapCal to harm yourself or anyone else.

6. Your content

Your meals, photos, weights and other entries stay yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the app for you: for example, sending a food photo to our AI providers for analysis and syncing your data between your devices. How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

7. Our app

The SnapCal app, name, design and software belong to us and our licensors. You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. These terms do not give you any other rights to it.

8. Ending your use

You can stop using SnapCal at any time. You can delete your account and its data in the app under Settings → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put the service or other users at risk.

9. Availability

We work to keep SnapCal running, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or unchanged. Features that need the internet, such as scanning and the coach, do not work offline.

10. Disclaimers

SnapCal is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we do not give any warranty about the accuracy of estimates or that the app will meet your needs. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for any health outcome, arising from your use of SnapCal. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for SnapCal in the 12 months before the claim. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top when we do, and tell you in the app about important changes. If you keep using SnapCal after a change, you accept the updated terms.
