SnapCal Privacy Policy

Effective 12 September 2026 · Provided by Najim Bacha, the solo developer of SnapCal

This policy explains what SnapCal collects, why, who else sees it, and how to get it deleted. Questions: najimbacha1@gmail.com.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health data for advertising. Your food photos and meal notes are sent to an AI provider to be analysed, and nothing else is shared except as listed below.

2. Why we use it

3. Who else processes your data

These companies process data on our behalf, only to run SnapCal:

WhoWhat they receiveWhat for
DeepSeekFood photos you scan, meal descriptions, and the questions you ask the coach, together with the profile figures needed to answer (such as your targets)Recognising food, estimating nutrition, coach answers and meal plans
Google Firebase (Google LLC)Account details, your logged data, progress photos and scan images, push token, crash and usage diagnosticsSign-in, cloud backup and sync, file storage, notifications, crash reporting, abuse prevention (App Check)
Google Play BillingYour purchaseTaking payment and managing your subscription
RevenueCatYour account identifier and purchase statusChecking whether SnapCal Pro is active
RenderRequests our app makes to our server, which include the data being scanned or asked aboutHosting the SnapCal server

Your steps and Health Connect data are not sent to the AI provider and are not shared with anyone; they stay on your phone and, if you are signed in, in your own account backup.

These providers may process data outside your country. We use them under their data-processing terms.

4. Photos

A photo you scan is uploaded to your own private area of our file storage and sent to the AI provider for analysis. The result is cached for up to seven days so that reopening a scan does not pay for the same answer twice; the cached result does not include your photo. Scan photos and progress photos are deleted when you delete the scan, the photo, or your account.

5. How long we keep it

6. Deleting your data

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account. This deletes your meals, water, weigh-ins, progress photos, scans, settings and your login, from your phone and from our servers.

If you cannot open the app, email najimbacha1@gmail.com from the address on the account and we will delete it within 30 days. More detail: how to delete your account.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel that in Google Play, or you will keep being charged.

7. Security

Your data on the phone is held in encrypted storage, with the key kept in the device's secure key store. Traffic to our server and to Firebase uses HTTPS. Our server checks that requests come from a genuine copy of the app (Firebase App Check) and that they carry your sign-in token. No system is perfectly secure, but health data is treated as sensitive throughout.

8. Children

SnapCal is not for children under 13, or under the minimum age for digital services in your country if that is higher. We do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has an account, email us and we will remove it.

9. Your rights

You can see and change your data in the app, export a report of it, and delete it. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to a copy of your data, to object to processing, or to complain to your data protection authority. Email us and we will help.

10. Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date above and, for anything important, tell you in the app.
